Hiked in on PCT from Santiam Pass on Fourth of July. A warm but breezy day. Lots of wildflowers--especially penstemon--blooming on the open mountain slopes in the burn. Found a spot just where the climber's trail leaves the PCT. I hope Stratton's enthusiastic energy will buoy the climbers as they head up toward the summit of Three Fingered Jack.
