Teal Slough

Teal Slough, Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, Pacific County, Washington, United States, 98638

Walked a trail into this little-known patch of old-growth in heavily logged-over coastal southwest Washington. Apparently the grandmother and grandfather trees that were left uncut had "deformities" that caused the loggers to pass them over. Cheers for our own weird ways that may save us yet from Empire. This stone is harbored in a little niche of a grandmother Cedar.
