Walked out to Hurricane Hill from Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, July 24, 2026. Five months since Stratton transitioned. I tucked the stone in a little niche facing the Strait of San Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island. Just on the other side of the crest of the hill, the classic vista of the Olympic Mountains was laid out. On a clear day, one could probably look over to Mt. Baker and the BC Coast Range from that location.
