6QJ7+W8 Wallowa Lake

Wallowa Lake, Oregon, United States, 97846

Marina RIchie & Wes Pyne
I placed two stones from the two of us (Wes and Marina) a few inches under the icy, flowing waters of the West Fork Wallowa River in the Eagle Cap Wilderness just below the footbridge crossing on the Ice Lake trail. Then, I added a sprig of Pearly Everlasting wildflower for Stratton's everlasting spirit. I like to think of Stratton's spirit flowing with the waters within Oregon's largest wilderness area, and knowing he loved this corner of the world, too, backcountry camping in the wilderness in winter and splitboarding down the wild Wallowa peaks. His spirit is here--in the mountain voices of pika, marmot, Wallowa Rosy finch, and yes--raven.
